We picked up the new puppy yesterday from breeder Gretchen Boss of Breckin Labradors and she is beautiful. We were going to name her Tasha (long story short, Data’s first girlfriend in Star Trek: The Next Generation is named Tasha), but ultimately were dissuaded due to that name’s frequency. So, her name will be Tula (\ˈtü-lä\), as chosen by Julia.

Today Julia and I were joined by my mother and brother and his girlfriend to take a look at puppies. The breeder, Gretchen Boss, owner of Breckin Labradors, let us take a look and I think we’ve made a selection. The fattest yellow girl will almost certainly be our new dog. Today Data was entered in his first show since before the road trip. He was the only dog in his first class, so he won that, but did not place in the next class. I spent some time wandering through the rest of the show before heading home. He will be back in the ring tomorrow and Sunday.
This afternoon, Julia came up for the weekend. We got a call from my mom, saying that she was doing a cesarean section on a pregnant Old English bulldog, so we decided to head to the hospital to help and watch.
