Well, so much for that goal.
Julia’s been working on a big post about the Chinese Consulate (don’t ask), but apparently she decided to throw it on the back burner.
We recently bought a very nice sectional couch for the apartment we don’t yet have. It’s a tan microfiber sectional with a queen size pullout bed. Apparently it was roughly $2,000 new, but the owners had a kid or two and didn’t want it destroyed, so they sold it on CraigsList. The asking price went from $800 incrementally down to $500, at which point we bought it. It will go nicely with the Simmons BeautyRest queen size bed we just put a deposit on. Now all we need is a huge HDTV and we’ll never want to leave our apartment. The one we don’t have yet.
In other news, things at the News-Times are great. The people I work with are nice and the work doesn’t feel like work. The hours are nice because I never feel exhausted. Of course, I’d love to have a schedule more aligned with Julia’s, but we’ve been able to have lunch almost every day and it really hasn’t taken a toll on our relationship at all.
